Britain's Got Talent fans mock 'don't try this at home' warning from Dec Donnelly as Amanda Holden drops expletive

Britain's Got Talent viewers were left mocking a warning from host Dec Donnelly as more auditions got underway. The ITV talent show returned to screens on Saturday night (May 20) and those tuning in were told 'don't try this at home' as a circus performer stunned the judges.

Antony Torralvo took to the stage with his act that involved balancing on chairs. And while that may sound straightforward, the performance was a bit more terrifying as the chairs were stacked on bottles and he was balancing on one hand.

The stuntman was seen on stacks of chairs resting on nothing but four green glass bottles. Antony gradually increased the amount of chairs he was standing on, leaving fears that the glass bottles will smash under the pressure, causing the stunt man to fall and the glass to fly.

"Oh s***," Amanda Holden said as she watched Antony’s daredevil routine - causing a warning to viewers. But a different warning came from Dec as he appeared as usual in the wings with his co-host Ant McPartlin. "Obviously, don't try this at home," he said directly into the camera.

But as the act, safely, came to an end at several feet in the air, the judges were left applauding on their feet. "Brilliant! It was unbelievably scary to watch," Simon Cowell said as Alesha Dixon commented: "I thought you were fantastic, you’re crazy but I’ve never seen anything like it."

Amanda branded the performance 'extraordinarily brave and courageous." While new judge, former Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno Tonioli commented: "You’re obviously an artist I can tell, because I could see there was choreography there."

But following Dec's warning, BGT viewers couldn't help but flock to social media and mock the advice. @NichollsLiese quipped: "For the love god I had just stacked my chairs and NOW they tell me not to try this at home!! #bgt." @CtTweets08 tweeted: "Don't try this at home. Who has this many chairs at home #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."

@MrJ9_FFC joked: "Why do they say don’t try this at home ffs? Here Love get us 12 chairs & 4 bottles I’m going to hang off them 25ft in the air one handed! Hold my tea! #BritainsGotTalent #BGT." @Ian38711310 mocked: "Don't try this at home? Aww thought I'd found a way to make use of my spare 20 dining room chairs for a second there #bgt." @dnbentley added: "Damn just got my chairs and empty beer bottles in the middle of the front room and they say don’t try this at home #bgt #BGT2023."
