Britain's Got Talent audience share 'truth' behind Golden Buzzer as fans spot 'flaw' in Simon 'rule break'

Audience members from the audition stages of Britain's Got Talent have spoken out after viewers spotted a 'flaw' in the show's latest 'rule break'. The ITV talent favourite was back on the small screen on Saturday night (May 20) and after last weekend's episode featured a 'first', it appears Simon Cowell didn't want to be left out.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno caused Tonioli drama and surprised viewers when he claimed a second Golden Buzzer act ahead of the live semi-finals in a move that Simon joked could "get him fired". He pressed his buzzer for singer Gamal John who performed It's A Man's Man's Man's World by James Brown.

As the audience chanted for the Golden Buzzer to be pressed, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly made it clear that they couldn't as there were none left having already pressed them for other acts.

But new judge Bruno, who wasn't familiar with the rules, threw caution to the wind and pressed his Golden Buzzer for the second time this series, becoming the first judge on the show to get two Golden Buzzer acts. "I have to do it," he shouted as he leapt between Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Gamal was able to keep his place in the live shows, however, he wasn't covered in golden confetti like other recipients of the buzzer due to them having all been used. But Ant and Dec soon came rushing out onto the stage after finding some confetti cannons backstage and doused Gamal and his son.

And this is why BGT fans think they spotted a 'flaw' on Saturday night (May 20). Hosts Ant and Dec were left utterly speechless as Simon ended up breaking his own rules. For the final performance of the episode, a dance group, named Unity, made up of members from all up and down the country.

Throughout their routine, the group shared a number of their own personal stories and experiences of what it has been like for them to grow up outside of societal norms. After an incredible performance, Bruno said it was "simply superb" as Simon admitted it was an "audition he'd never forget".

It was at this point that the crowd started chanting 'Golden Buzzer' which then lead to Simon confessing: "We don't have any golden buzzers yet but sometimes I feel you should just break the rules."

The judge proudly stood up out of his seat and slammed the golden buzzer, sending gold confetti raining down on the performers as the audience cheered with joy. Dec then cheekily asked: "What's going on? Do we get another one now?" as Ant laughed: "I hope so!"

Ans as some complained about the additional buzzer use this series, one audience member shared the 'truth'. @ItsCloeMoe said: "Yeah, unity, we the audience weren't told that there was no golden buzzers left and it was so unexpected that they had to redo the golden buzzer because they weren't recording #BGT."

It comes after some spotted the error with @shannonconnor1x tweeted: "@BGT if you didn’t have any Golden buzzers left, why was there gold paper ready to fall? #bgt #britainsgottalent."@jamie_pragnell asked: "So how come you 'suddenly' had confetti yet Bruno didn’t last week?"

@TheWorldOfOlly posted: "So. Is it just me that thinks when @BGT has no golden buzzers left, they surely wouldn’t fill up the golden confetti. However when it was the ‘unexpected’ golden buzzer the confetti was waiting and prepared, when it wasn’t last week?? hmmm.. #BGT." @SophAlder24 added: "When Bruno pressed his second golden buzzer (obvi unplanned) there was no confetti. This group now got yet another golden buzzer that shouldn’t have even been allowed and confetti falls from the heavens. #bgt #britainsgottalent."
