Britain is experiencing its hottest weather of 2026 so far, with temperatures surging across England as forecasters warn that parts of the country could climb to 35C in the coming days.
On Monday, May 25, the Met Office confirmed that several areas in southern and eastern England had already entered official heatwave conditions after recording temperatures above regional thresholds for at least three consecutive days. Forecasters said London, Kent, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and parts of the Midlands were among the regions seeing the most intense heat.
