Speaking for good people of all faiths and none, the Pope’s plea to “stop this massacre” in Ukraine should make invader Vladimir Putin think again and withdraw.
It should, but it probably won’t.
What is becoming increasingly clear is that the slaughter of innocent civilians by Putin’s military forces guarantees the Kremlin killer will go down in history as a reviled leader who wrecked his own country to destroy another.
