A British tourist has died in a suspected drowning after going for a holiday swim off the beach in Lanzarote.
The 62-year-old man, who has not been identified, was pulled out of the water by lifeguards who tried to save him but he could not be revive him and died at the scene.
The alarm was raised just after 1.30pm local time yesterday at the Playa Dorada beach near the south coast island resort of Playa Blanca.
