A Brit was stabbed to death by a neighbour in Thailand in a row over noise, an inquest has heard.
Marcus Evans, 49, died from a knife wound to the back of his neck.
An inquest in Taunton, Somerset, has heard how Mr Evans' Thai neighbour had become angry by noise he and his British pal were making late at night.
Shaun Dagnan, 55, from Nuneaton, Warks, survived the sickle attack but was seriously wounded.
Mr Evans, an engineer from Berrow, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, died in the January 2022 attack in Mae Nam Khwae Road in Tha Makham district of Mueang Kanchanburi.
They said the Brits were playing songs from a Bluetooth speaker and drinking bottles of beer outside the single storey rented house.
But a 23-year-old male neighbour, named locally as Prasut Thipthep, became angry and attacked the men with the metal sickle which is commonly used for harvesting.
He was later charged with intentional manslaughter, Thai police said at the time.
The inquest at Somerset Coroner's Court heard Mr Evans died from brain stem and spinal cord contusion.
The assistant coroner Stephen Covell recorded a conclusion of unlawful killing.
He said Mr Evans was pronounced dead at 2.51am on January 22, 2022, at the Thai address as a result of a "knife wound to the back of the neck inflicted by a male neighbour who had become angered by noise being created by the deceased and a friend during a late evening".
Earlier this year, Mr Evans' girlfriend Wassana Muanchit, 33, described him as the "love of her life" and told how she had last seen him coming back into the house to get a beer.
She noted that he "looked normal" and not drunk, but later a neighbour came and repeatedly told her to check on her partner.
Ms Muanchit, a mum-of-one, said: "The neighbour said he was lying down on the floor. When I went out I found out he was dead.”
She said: “I was out of my mind because I loved him so much. He was the love of my life.”
Ms Muanchit said the police allowed her to talk to the alleged attack after his arrest, stating that she "looked in his eyes" and asked why he killed Mr Evans.
She added: “I said I was very angry at him. I said 'why couldn't you talk or ask nicely? You could have told me or told the police, but you shouldn't have killed him'.”
Mr Evans was Ms Muanchit's main provider and looked after her and her daughter, she said.
Mr Dagnan is believed to have been in Thailand visiting his girlfriend Nong Pranee, who lives in the area, locals said.
Police Colonel Somkiart Chomchai, of the Muang district police, said the alleged attacker set upon Mr Evans and his pal after becoming enraged by their loud music.
He said: "At the scene, there was a large number of blood marks on the ground. On the marble table were beer bottles and a Bluetooth speaker.
