A British woman found her husband dead in his seat as they flew from the UK to Cyprus this week.
The 63-year-old Brit lost consciousness during the flight which was headed to the city of Paphos.
Cypriot Police told the Cyprus Mail: “We can confirm that he passed away during the flight but at the moment there’s not much more we can say."
The force added that they are not considering the death as suspicious or criminally-linked.
On landing at the airport yesterday at around 11am local time, the man was rushed to Paphos General Hospital.
But nothing could be done and he was pronounced dead on arrival.
At the same airport, a British woman, 73, was left with serious injuries after plummetting onto the tarmac as she disembarked from her Glasgow flight.
It came just hours after the man was found dead in his seat yesterday.
She sustained a head injury, broken collarbone and ribs and is in a serious condition in hospital. Local media reported that though her injuries are serious, she is out of danger.
The Mirror has contacted the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) for comment.
At the start of April, a British family was left "traumatised" after a mum died suddenly while flying back to the UK.
"One of a kind" mum and midwife Helen Rhodes was travelling with her family as part of a "new adventure" returning home after spending 15 years living in Hong Kong.
A few hours in, Helen was found unresponsive and couldn't be resuscitated after passing away in her sleep.
Tragically, for the remaining eight hours of the flight, Helen's broken children sat next to their mum in a "breathless sleep" until they landed in Frankfurt, a friend of the family wrote.
Though it was an "extremely traumatising" experience, the "devastated" family had the opportunity to say their last goodbyes while sitting beside her.
John Moore, a neighbour for years to Mr and Mrs Rhodes, told the Mail Online that Mrs Rhodes' mother said her daughter died of a "suspected heart attack."
The 87-year-old said it is a terrible tragedy and her mother went and broke the news in tears.
"I just can't understand it. She was so fit and healthy and she worked in the medical profession", Mr Moore continued.
The neighbour understands that they were very excited about returning home to renovate their family home and the community were excited to welcome them back, particularly Mr Moore who used to collect the post.
Another neighbour, who also knew the family added: "It's really, really sad. They were really nice. They used to come back every summer."
