Man flies to Ibiza and buys a pint for less than £15 - cheaper than a box of lager at the supermarket

A Brit flew to Spain and bought a pint for less than £15 - cheaper than the cost of a box of lager at the supermarket. Callum Ryan, 22, spotted a box of 12 Estrella for £15 Morrisons and wondered if he could get a sunnier pint for less.

So he booked a flight from London Stansted to Ibiza Airport with Ryanair and his flight cost just £10. Once Callum landed in Ibiza he went to Rita's Cantina for a pint of Estrella which cost him €4 (£3.49).

Callum, a content creator from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, who shares his budget travel adventures on TikTok, said: "I wanted to show how it could be done.

"It also shows that a big night out could be a nice weekend away. There is nothing like travelling the world. I had no idea about how cheap you could travel - I have been recommending it to everyone."

Callum flew out to Ibiza on March 27, 2023. Once Callum landed in Ibiza he went to Rita's Cantina for a pint of Estrella which cost him four euros (£3.49).

Callum stayed overnight and flew back on March 28. His hotel cost €60 and his flight back was £10, meaning his entire trip cost him less than £100.

It is not the first time Callum has done something like this - earlier this year, he shared with his more than one million TikTok followers how he flew to Italy to eat pizza for less than a price of a Domino's takeaway.

The social media user said the price of a medium pizza from the takeaway chain would set you back £19.99 - and that’s 'before you think about delivery costs'. So he paid £8 for a last-minute ticket to Milan and forked out less than a tenner on a pizza, while receiving a complimentary glass of prosecco and pesto pizza roll.

While the cost of his travel and pizza put together came to £17.72, he didn't share how much his return flight from Italy set him back.

This time, his followers were similarly stunned at how cheap it was for Callum to travel abroad, with some pointing out how expensive prices are in the UK. "Shows how much of a joke the UK is, let's all go abroad," one person wrote.

"And here we are paying £200 for a flight," another added.
