BRIT Awards 2023 - Harry Styles leads nominations as female acts snubbed for major award

No female acts are nominated in one of the biggest categories at next month's BRIT Awards.

The full list of nominations for The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard was finally released this evening - with Radio 1 DJs Vick Hope and Jack Saunders revealing the artists in with the chance of bagging an honour on February 11 across social media channels.

Harry Styles and rock band Wet Leg lead the way with four nominations each, with Stormzy and The 1975 also bagging three nods each for major honours, but female acts will miss out when it comes to Artist of the Year gong - one year on from Adele becoming the first ever recipient of the rebranded award.

The Artist of the Year category featured only male acts, with Harry, rapper Central Cee, DJ Fred again, pop singers George Ezra and and Stormzy all in with a chance of taking home the prize in a few weeks time.

Women lead the way in the International Artist of the Year category, thanks to Lizzo, Beyonce and Taylor Swift all enjoying mammoth success over the last 12 months.

Sam Ryder - who came second when representing the UK at last year's Eurovision Song Contest - received a nomination for Best New Artist.

The Space Man singer told Vick and Jack: "I’m buzzing. I feel like a golden retriever that’s won a competition. Whatever happens, to simply be recognised alongside so many amazing artists and peers is incredible."
