With many of us still reeling from the near-40 degree heat that attacked Bristol in mid-July, the news that this weekend's (August 6-7) weather is shaping up to offer sunny intervals in the early 20s and a gentle breeze could come as a relief. The city saw its hottest day on record as temperatures soared to 35.3 degrees on July 18.
However, another heatwave could be on the way as soon as next week. From August 8, temperatures are predicted to hit the high 20s with plenty of sun on the way.
Last month saw the driest July the UK has faced in over 100 years. With more sun and little rain on the way throughout August, Wessex Water has devised a drought plan in case of emergency.
