Bristol is facing a wet morning following a night of rain which is already causing issues in the city today (January 12). A yellow weather warning for rain was issued yesterday by the Met Office for most of the South West - including Bristol - along with parts of Wales, which will last until 5pm.
The weather is such that one lane has been closed off on the M32 motorway due to flooding, and it's likely that other parts of the city will be affected by the "persistent heavy rain". Great Western Railways has also tweeted this morning that flooding is blocking all lines between Temple Meads and Swindon.
A flood alert has also been issued in the Bristol area for the Frome catchment. In the alert, the Environment Agency said people should "start acting on your flood plan if you have one".

However, moving ahead to the rest of the day, Bristol looks like it's been spared somewhat in comparison to the rest of the South West and south and mid-west Wales, as the Exeter-based Met Office has predicted sporadic showers throughout the day.
Shortly after 9am this morning the rain looks to ease off for a couple of hours, making a return around 12pm along with a spot of sun behind the clouds, followed up by a brief spell of heavy rain in parts. However, this looks to ease up shortly, returning to light sunny showers until 4pm, where the city gets more respite until 7pm. Then it's more light rain predicted until around 10pm tonight.
