A sign has emerged on an empty unit in Bristol city centre for a new Asian barbecue restaurant. Asian BBQ and Hotpot has moved into St Nicholas Street near the market and promises to bring a new experience to diners in Bristol.
The restaurant has taken over from Double Barrel Bar which first opened in September 2021 and had more than 100 types of whisky to serve its customers. Prior to that, it was Chomp steakhouse.
Asian BBQ and Hotpot's website says: "Welcome to Asian BBQ & Hotpot Bristol, where culinary magic meets a laid-back atmosphere. We’re not just a restaurant – we’re an experience. Our relaxed vibe is perfect for sharing mouth-watering Asian BBQ and hotpot with your friends."

An opening date is yet to be revealed for the new barbecue and hotpot restaurant, but its opening hours will be from Monday to Saturday. While a menu is yet to be released, it promises an interactive experience with grill marinated meats and vegetables alongside simmering communal hotpots with meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles.
The website continues: "You’ll find a unique blend of service-focused attention, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place to create memories. Our stylish, yet cosy interiors provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying our sumptuous Asian delights."
It's not the only new hot pot restaurant around the centre in recent weeks. Authentic Hot Pot & Hand-pulled Noodles opened less than five minutes away on the edge of Redcliffe. It serves made-to-order noodles with beef and vegetables in a spicy soup.
