Bristol's food scene is second to none and the awards the cities independent restaurants consistently win are enough to prove it. From fine dining to incredible street food, Bristol has it all and the much-loved food has earned national recognition.
One of the cities smallest restaurant, Box-E, is just one restaurant that has been the subject of recent national attention. Just last month, a readers’ poll in a top food and travel magazine deemed the 14-cover restaurant at Cargo, Wapping Wharf, ‘best restaurant of the year outside London’ in Food and Travel magazine’s reader awards.
This award came just after Box-E retained its coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand for ‘good quality, good value cooking’, making it all the more impressive. The restaurant is run by husband-and-wife team Elliott and Tess Lidstone and is known for it's modern British food, which focuses on seasonal ingredients from West Country producers and suppliers.
