Only one other teenage player across England's top four divisions has been directly involved in more league goals this season than rising star Elliot Anderson.
The 19-year-old, who joined on loan from Newcastle on January's deadline day, has been involved in nine goals since his arrival - scoring six and assisting three including the equaliser against Port Vale on Monday afternoon.
The attacking midfielder has scored in Rovers' last three matches to help bolster Joey Barton's promotion push to League One further highlighting the player's potential to deliver when it matters most.
According to Opta, his goal contribution is only bettered by one other teenager in Fulham's wonderkid Fabio Carvalho (16) who is set to join Liverpool in the summer following the Cottagers' promotion to the Premier League.
Anderson's tally comes across 18 League Two appearances, meaning he is averaging a goal or assist every other match while Carvalho is enjoying a similar run of form with his goal contributions coming across 32 games.
His first goal came in the 4-0 away win at Stevenage on February 19 and he was forced to wait six games to double his tally before scoring in back-to-back matches against Harrogate and Colchester.
Former Newcastle manager Steve Bruce handed Anderson his Newcastle debut in the FA Cup against Arsenal last season although the beginning of his campaign was hampered by injuries.
Barton has waxed lyrical about the young talent following his string of fine performances since arriving at the Mem and even put him in the same breath as Argentine legend Diego Maradona last month.
Last month, he said: "I’ve been listening to Bill Shankley tapes a lot today. He talked a lot about a 19-year-old Diego Maradona and how he slows down in the penalty area, exactly like Elliot Anderson does. (He is) such a talent.
"Elliot has been brilliant for us from the first day we brought him in. I would have paid to watch him tonight - he was that good.
“Elliot is a huge talent. He excites you and tonight he showed a different gear to be the stand-out player on the pitch."
