Bristol Rovers launches Gas To 5K to make its fans the fittest in the league

From the terrace to the track, Bristol Rovers Community Trust has launched a new scheme to get supporters fit in time for the new season. Bristol Rovers Community Trust has partnered with Planned Fitness Goals, to launch Gas To 5k, a new programme that aims to help Bristol Rovers supporters get ‘season fit’ and healthy in time for August.

Gas To 5K is a ten-week online programme designed to get participants from terrace to 5K, with the goal of completing their first parkrun on the first day of the first home game of the season. The programme will include a mix of running, walking, and strength exercises to help them build up their endurance and stamina. There will be video's demonstrating some good techniques and training options.

Gas To 5K is open to anyone who wants to get fit and healthy. Grant Rees, the founder of Planned Fitness Goals, has over ten years of experience in the fitness industry and is excited to be working with Bristol Rovers Community Trust to launch Gas To 5K. He believes that the programme will not only help participants get fit and healthy but also create a sense of community and camaraderie among supporters. As Park run is international, they hope it it will connect with the club’s fanbase wherever they are in the UK or abroad.

Grant said: “I know that we have the best fans in the league, and now I want to make us the fittest fans in league. I’m excited to see that Bristol Rovers Community Trust are sharing this vision of supporting our fans to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle. I want participants to enjoy the journey to achieving this goal bring friends along the way and be proud about what you are doing.”

Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO, Adam Tutton added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Grant Rees and Planned Fitness Goals to launch Gas To 5K. As a Community Trust, our mission is to promote health and wellbeing among our supporters and the wider community, and this programme is a great way to achieve that. We hope that Gas To 5K will inspire people to get active, have fun, and make positive changes in their lives."

Gas To 5K will kick off on May 29, giving participants plenty of time to get fit and healthy before the start of the new season in August and for the first parkrun. Participants will receive a training plan, which will include interactive video exercises, warm-up techniques and advice to help you prepare for the new season. All fans registered will also have access to a private Facebook group where you can share your support with other fans and get coach feedback.

The cost for this programme is £10 and includes exclusive access to the ten-week programme and each participant will receive Bristol Rovers Community Trust running top. To register for this programme, visit https://www.bristolroverscommunity.org.uk/gasto5k.
