Bristol Rovers fans don fancy dress for St George's Day

A large group of Bristol Rovers fans were spotted getting fully into the spirit of St George's Day. The group of around 50 football fans donned fancy dress as their team took on Forest Green Rovers in League Two today (April 23).

A video shows the fans decked out in knight fancy dress including tunics with the St George's flag. They were filmed in a merry mood at the Blue Lagoon Cafe Bar on Gloucester Road - you can see the clip of them below.

Bristol Live has been told the group went to the game at the Memorial Stadium today. They had planned the St George's Day celebrations weeks in advance.

In the video, the group can be seen chanting and singing at the bar. Facebook users described the display as "brilliant" and "mint".

Bristol Rovers went on to record a 0-0 draw against Forest Green Rovers. The scoreless draw saw the Gloucestershire club promoted to League One for the first time in their history.
