Bristol Hippodrome relaunches its popular backstage tours - how to get tickets

Ever wondered what it must be like to stand on the stage at the Bristol Hippodrome? Or maybe you’ve always wanted a look inside one of the dressing rooms used by the stars appearing there? After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Bristol Hippodrome’s theatre tours are back. These guided tours of one of the UK’s most famous venues have always been popular and their return is already creating plenty of interest.

Designed by Frank Matcham, The Bristol Hippodrome is bursting with history and architectural grandeur. Theatre tours are packed with interesting facts and tales of the stars who have performed on their impressive stage. With stories of both tragedy and hilarity throughout, the tours are sure to keep all entertained.

The popularity of these tours is already evident as the first one scheduled to take place (on Saturday, September 17) has almost sold out. More dates for future tours will be released soon.

Kyle Pyrke of Creative Learning says: “Up until 2020 our theatre had only ever closed for repairs or refurbishment. Even during both World Wars the Bristol Hippodrome stayed open for its public, so it is incredibly moving to finally reopen the tours again and allow the public to hear some of the most moving, funny and in some cases tragic stories this beautiful theatre holds.

“The Hippodrome has been here for 110 years, visited by Royalty, hosted performances from some of the biggest stars of the day and continues to showcase some of the biggest shows touring the UK today. This theatre really does have it all.”
