Bristol forecast wet weekend weather as sunny spell comes to an end

The recent glorious weather is set to come to an abrupt end in Bristol from this weekend as forecasts suggest unsettled conditions - including "heavy and thundery showers" - are approaching. Like many parts of the UK, including the South West, Bristol has been basking in temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s.

The spell of weather led to the Met Office recently confirming a heatwave in parts of the UK as temperatures rocketed up. However, the mercury is set to drop in Bristol from this weekend with rain on the radar as we head into next week.

On Saturday (June 17), the city is set for high temperatures of 23C. The morning will be dry and cloudy before light showers arrive at 4pm and last through the evening.

Then, on Sunday, there will be downpours throughout the afternoon with high temperatures of 24C. The rain will last from around 1pm to 10pm.

The start of next will bring similar temperatures, as well as an increased chance of showers. The rain may turn heavier on Tuesday (June 20) and Wednesday.

Met Office five-day forecast for the South West

Today: Any early mist or low cloud clearing quickly through the morning, leaving another mostly dry day with plenty of prolonged sunshine, although a very small chance of a light shower in the afternoon. Feeling warm with light easterly winds. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Tonight: Remaining dry through the evening and overnight, although some patchy mist or low cloud may form in prone spots by dawn. A warm night with winds easing by the morning. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Friday: Early mist or low cloud clearing quickly, leaving a sunny day. Some fair weather cloud during the afternoon brings an increasing chance of showers, but dry for most. Feeling warm. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday: A return to unsettled conditions over the weekend and Monday with an increasing risk of heavy and thundery showers. Warm or locally hot, and feeling more humid.
