Bristol Craft Beer Festival issues travel warning ahead of weekend

Preparations are under way for Bristol Craft Beer Festival this weekend, which is taking over Lloyds Amphitheatre. It is one of the city's biggest beer festivals celebrating the incredible brewing talent in Bristol and across the UK.

Beer enthusiasts will be heading to Bristol Harbourside with more than 300 different beers to try across the weekend (June 9-10). Bristol Beer Festival offers single session and weekend tickets where all your beer is included in the price.

On Friday (June 9), the gates will open from 6pm until 11pm with two sessions on Saturday. Organisers have issued a travel warning for those planning on arriving by car or taxi on Saturday due to a planned Royal Navy parade in the city centre. There are a number of road closures in place.

A festival statement said: "On Saturday the Freedom Parade for HMS Prince of Wales will be making its way around Bristol, which will mean that some roads will be closed briefly. This will affect vehicle traffic only, not pedestrian. They will be passing nearby the amphitheatre between 2pm and 3pm."

There are a number of road closures in place on Saturday. The road closures are in place as follows, with parking suspensions along Deanery Road (6am-7pm):

  • 6am-7pm: Deanery Road and St Georges Road.
  • 2pm-3pm: Deanery Road, St Georges Road, Anchor Road, Broad Quay, St Augustine’s Parade, College Green and Park Street

Organisers advised if you are planning to get dropped off or picked up during the afternoon to use Prince Street and walk across the Pero's Bridge. A few tickets remain for the three sessions for those still hoping to attend.

Bristol Craft Beer Festival is on June 9-10, 2023
