Bristol City player ratings vs Blackpool: Robins attack unplayable but defence struggles

Dan Bentley - 5

Unconvincing first half including failing to grasp at a cross. Had no chance with Blackpool's opener. Made a good save after Atkinson's error just seconds before Blackpool's second.

Zak Vyner - 4

Found it tough on the 2 vs 1 on the flanks but avoided individual errors. Struggled with the physical and aerial threat of Blackpool. A brilliant block in the second half. Lost the ball for Blackpool's third although it was a poor pass into him.

Kal Naismith - 4

Struggled with the long ball forward to Madine with the striker playing with his back to goal. Made a key pass to Scott in the build-up to the goal. A brilliant delivery was almost headed in by Scott. A terrible pass to Vyner that led to Blackpool's equaliser.

Rob Atkinson - 4

Could have been stronger on Madine for the Blackpool opener. Lost the ball in a dangerous area in the second half which eventually led to the goal. Been in good form leading up to this contest but certainly not his best. Booked in the final five minutes.

Alex Scott (off 60, Semenyo) - 6

A great assist to seek out his flatmate for City to grab a deserved equaliser on the stroke of half-time. Frustrating in possession sometimes. Taken off on 60 minutes for Semenyo.

Jay Dasilva - 6

Some good stuff, some bad. Managed to pick the ball up high up the pitch but his final ball was lacking. Had a difficult test with Bowler on his side. Frustrating with his crosses which was evident by the reaction of his team-mates.

Joe Williams - 7

City were dominant in midfield and Williams was key to that. Kept possession well and threw himself into tackles. Put everything on the line.

Han-Noah Massengo (off 45, James) - 6

Slightly surprising to see him come off at half-time. Wasn't his best performance but far from bad. Kept the ball moving without threatening further up the field. Performed an unnecessary piece of skill to provoke a frustrating reaction from the bench.

Andi Weimann - 6

Could have scored in the first half but fired the ball over the bar from close range. Quieter than usual, perhaps down to his knock picked up in the week. Moved to wing-back on the hour.

Tommy Conway - 8

City's most lively player in the first half, summed up by his lightning-quick reactions to score the equaliser. Could have had another but took a second too long before pulling the trigger. Dropped deeper after Semenyo's introduction. Quieter in the second period.

Nahki Wells - 7

Really unlucky to hit the post after 30 seconds. Heavily involved in the first half with his build-up play and movement around the box. Hit the crossbar when should have scored but didn't matter before the own-goal.

Substitutes

Matty James (on 45, Massengo) - 6

Solid, if not a little unspectacular. Was up for the scrap in midfield although failed to offer the protection in front of the defence.

Antoine Semenyo (on 60, Scott) - 8

A brilliant instant impact, scoring after about 20 seconds of coming on. It was a great finish across the goalkeeper. Blackpool defenders couldn't deal with hi strength.
