Bristol City player ratings vs Blackburn: Bentley the penalty hero as Weimann scores winner

Dan Bentley - 9

Made a terrific save in the first-half from a corner to keep the scores level - diving to his left. Another smart from to deny Khadra in the second. Sensational penalty stop to ensure City kept a rare clean sheet.

Alex Scott - 6

Booked for a late challenge in the first half so was forced to play with the shackles on. Disappointing with his deliveries and touch looked a little off at times. Not his greatest game by his high standards - taken off for Massengo on the hour mark.

Timm Klose - 7

Read the game brilliantly on occasions, including in the second half to intercept a dangerous ball across the box. Handled crosses that came at him and was strong against Gallagher. Very lucky not to concede a penalty.

Robbie Cundy - 7

Made to wait for his debut but put in a solid performance without tearing up any trees. Khadra troubled him at times, especially in the second half when he began to look tired.

Rob Atkinson - 7

Nervy start saw Gallagher get in behind him on a couple of occasions in the first half. Grew into the contest as the game went on but looked leggy towards the end.

Jay Dasilva - 8

Pearson spoke highly of him in the week and he was excellent once again. Assured at the back and a threat going forward. Delivered a brilliant cross to Martin in first half to create a rare opportunity.

Joe Williams - 8

Getting fitter by the match, made a lung-busting run through the middle in the first half and covered plenty of ground. Scrappy in the challenges. Had a decent opportunity saved and missed a big chance at the end. Unorthodox assist - but he'll take it!

Matty James - 7

Looked a lot more assured than last weekend without doing anything spectacular. Kept possession well enough and was an annoyance in the middle for Blackburn.

Andi Weimann - 8

Started in a right wing-back role on his 400th career appearance and it was a real hardworking and thankless performance by the Austrian. Scored a sensational winner at the death with a brilliant volley.

Antoine Semenyo - 6

Lively in the early stages, causing panic in the Blackburn defence. Squandered a great opportunity in the first half when he completely missed the ball. Looked off the pace after that and taken off for Wells after the hour mark.

Chris Martin - 6

A usual, dogged performance by Martin who won headers both in Blackburn's half and crucially, in his own box. Barely got a sniff in front of goal bet set Semenyo up for a great chance in the first half.

Substitutes

Han-Noah Massengo (on 59, Scott) - 5

Gave the ball away terribly soon after coming on which could have proved costly. Looks a little low on confidence at the moment and gave away the penalty. Bailed out by Bentley.

Nahki Wells (on 65, Semenyo) - 7

Lively in his cameo, linked up well with Martin.

Subs not used: Wiles-Richards, Benarous, Conway, Bell, Pring
