Bristol City are closing in on their first significant signing of the summer with Oxford United's Mark Sykes to undergo a medical today, according to reports.
Bristol World reported how representatives of the 24-year-old held talks with manager Nigel Pearson last week with Sykes to leave the League One club on the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
The transfer is set to move a step closer to completion today, with journalist Pete O'Rouke writing on social media: "Oxford United midfielder Mark Sykes is undergoing a medical at Bristol City today ahead of joining on a free transfer."
