Bristol City and Bristol Rovers will discover their schedule for 2023/24 in just over six weeks with the EFL confirming next season will begin on the weekend of August 5.
City and Rovers finished their respective campaigns over the Bank Holiday weekend with the Gas closing out with a 3-2 defeat to Bolton Wanderers, finishing 17th in League One, while the Robins beat QPR 2-0 24 hours later to claim 14th in the Championship.
Supporters won’t have long to wait before they can make plans for next term as fixtures across the EFL will be released at 9am on Thursday, June 22.
They will run from the first weekend in August through to May, with the League One and League Two play-off finals taking place on the weekend May 18-19 and the Championship version a week later on May 26. That breaks from tradition of having the play-off finals in succession over the second May Bank Holiday weekend.
City know 17 of the 23 other teams that will make up the Championship for 2023/24, with Premier League relegation and the respective play-offs in the second and third tiers still to be decided. Meanwhile, Rovers know of 20 sides that will form League One, with the final promotion places to be decided in their divisions and the one below.
