This Saturday, September 3, is National Cinema Day. Hundreds of cinemas across the country are marking the day by offering tickets from just £3.
The cheap tickets are available at major chains including Vue, Cineworld, Odeon and Picturehouse as well as some independent cinemas. They can be bought in advance or on the day – depending on availability.
National Cinema Day has been organised by industry body Cinema First to celebrate every aspect of the big screen experience. Cinema-going is one of the nation’s favourite out-of-home leisure activities and on Saturday everyone is invited to enjoy the incomparable sights, sounds and total escapism you can only get from a trip to your local cinema.

Many cinemas are showing a mix of recently-released films and bringing back much-loved classics, many of which may not have been shown on the big screen in many years. Recently-released films include Lightyear, DC League of Super-Pets, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Thor: Love and Thunder, Elvis, Top Gun Maverick, Bullet Train, Nope and Beast.
If you’re buying your tickets online, you’ll need to pay a booking fee of up to 95p per ticket, depending on the cinema. There is no booking fee if buying the tickets in person.
Some cinemas may charge extra for premium screenings. If you’re a Cineworld Unlimited or Odeon MyLimitless member, the usual charge for premium screenings will be waived on Saturday.
