A Bristol brewery has plans to open a new bar and restaurant at The Carriageworks on Stokes Croft.
St Paul’s-based craft ale brewers New Bristol Brewery has submitted an application for the premises on the ground floor of the historic Westmoreland House building.
Run by husband and wife team Noel and Maria James, New Bristol Brewery was launched in 2014 and specialises in natural, unrefined and unfiltered beers.

From citrus-soaked session beers, mango and coconut IPAs and blow-torched brown sugar and coffee-infused stout, New Bristol Brewery has a range of award-winning ales.
Among the popular beers in the range are Lost in Clouds IPA, Cinder Toffee Stout, The Happy World of Sabro and Bristol Lager.
According to the application submitted by owners Noel and Maria, the new premises at 104a Stokes Croft will be called New Bristol Brewery Tap Bar & Grill and it will be a cafe, bar and restaurant with the sale of alcohol on and off the premises.
The opening hours applied for are Monday to Sunday, 8.30am to 11.30pm, and the sale of alcohol would be from 10am to 11pm on those days.
New Bristol Brewery currently has a small brewery tap in St Paul's, serving its beers as well as local ciders, wine and organic soft drinks. It has also hosted many of the city’s pop-up food businesses.
The planned New Bristol Brewery Tap Bar & Grill will be below the flats and apartments in The Carriageworks, which was derelict from the mid-1980s until the development of the building.
Built in 1804, it was originally T&J Perry’s Carriageworks and Harness Factory, which was burned down and its replacement designed by Bristol architect Edward William Godwin.
Maria James confirmed that New Bristol Brewery had submitted the application but wouldn’t comment further on the plans.
