Bristol Bears are looking to sign hooker Gabriel Oghre ahead of the 2023/24 season according to the latest reports.
Oghre, 24, could end up playing for three clubs this season having been made redundant by Wasps following the club’s financial collapse into administration.
The front rower, who can also play on the flank - making him a very popular signing for cash-strapped directors of rugby who are valuing utility players, is currently at Leicester Tigers have signed a short-term deal to provide injury cover after a run out with the Barbarians.
But he is expected to finish the season playing in the French Top 14 with The Rugby Paper reporting he is set to join Bordeaux Begles as a medical joker in the New Year.

When signing for Tigers last month, Leicester director of rugby Steve Borthwick said: “Gabriel is an incredibly talented player who is a great addition to our squad and club.”
“He is a mobile forward and excellent ball carrier, with a great ability to link with others in attack.
“At only 24, he has a strong level of experience in the Premiership and adds healthy competition to our front-row ranks.”
Oghre has strong links to the area having come through the Bath academy while studying at Beecham Cliff School and then Millfield. Just months after leaving the Rec for Wasps, Oghre made his senior debut and in September 2021 the hooker was called up to the senior England squad for a training camp.
Bristol are currently well stocked at hooker with Harry Thacker, Bryan Byrne, Jake Kerr, Will Capon and Fred Davies at the club meaning the addition of Oghre would likely signal an exit.
Bears director of rugby Pat Lam has already picked up two out of work Wasps players in the form of scrum half Will Porter and lock Elliott Stooke, the later of whom is a close friend o Oghre.
