Ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend, the weather in Bristol is looking fairly promising - but both BBC Weather and the Met Office believe both rain and thundery showers 'cannot be ruled out'. Whilst many will be glad temperatures won't be hitting the mid-30s again, the likelihood of rain on one of the busiest weekends of the year is not so welcome.
The Met Office has reported that, this week, we're expected to see temperatures reach their peak on Wednesday (August 24). Highs of 23C and lows of 14C are predicted.
The headline on this week's forecast is very much an 'unsettled few days', as the Met Office has reported. There is no indication that we will see the heatwave conditions from earlier this month and July return, and BBC Weather has stated that rain showers 'cannot be ruled out'.

Met Office's Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Adam Thornhill, said, “While high pressure often brings fine and dry weather at this time of the year, with this system likely building to the west of the UK, cooler air is forecast to be bought southwards across the country from the north. Combine this with daylight hours shortening as we move towards September, and temperatures are unlikely to reach the same level as we have seen at times earlier this summer.”
The Met Office's outlook for Friday and across the Bank Holiday weekend is unsettled. It becomes less humid by Friday, with some spells of warm sunshine.
Across the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond, some thundery showers are also possible across the south. BBC Weather has predicted 'clear skies and sunshine' for Friday morning, but patchy cloud is to develop in the afternoon and showers 'cannot be ruled out'.
