Bristol animation studio's head of production elected to national industry council

The head of production at a Bristol-based animation studio has been elected to the leadership of a key national industry group.

Duncan Fraser of A Productions will sit on the council of Animation UK, which acts as an advocate for the sector and seeks to influence key decision makers such as the government, UK public sector broadcasters, industry bodies and regulator OFCOM.

Elections take place every two years, with each representative serving two terms. Council representatives are elected by Animation UK’s animation members.

Mr Fraser has worked within animation for more than 20 years, and is now responsible for set-up, development and implementation of all of the production pipelines across the studio, as well as staff recruitment and development at A Productions.

Mr Fraser said: “I am extremely honoured and grateful to have been elected to the Animation Council and am really excited to be part of these very important conversations regarding the future of UK animation at a time of great change and development.

“I am committed to being as representative of as many voices as I possibly can and I would love to hear everyone’s views and ideas from across the whole industry.”

Mark Taylor, joint managing director at A Productions, will be stepping down from the council.

A Productions, which employs a team of around 150 people with bases on Old Market Street and Colston Street, has worked on programmes such as CBeebies pre-school series JoJo and Gran Gran and The Monster At The End of This Story , the first-ever animated Sesame Street special.
