Bristol Airport has shared some tips on how to go through security quicker. The airport has been experiencing delays for weeks now as it struggles to cope with the pent-up demand after the pandemic.
It comes as passengers at Bristol Airport have experienced long delays on multiple occasions in the past few weeks, with travellers continuing to turn to social media to express their frustration. A spokesperson for the airport has previously blamed the delays on staff shortages and post-pandemic demand for holidays.
Earlier this week, the airport shared some advice on how to get through passport control quicker. It has now shared some tips on how to make going through security as smooth as possible.

They advise travellers remove laptops and electrical devices from their bags, as well as placing liquids in a separate liquids bag, for example. The airport wrote: "We’ve put together a quick checklist to make your journey through security as easy as possible:
- Remove laptop computers/ electrical devices;
- Place liquids in separate liquids bag;
- Empty your pockets into the trays;
- Take off your jacket/ coat."
This is the advice the airport gave to go through passport control quicker. They advised travellers use the ePassport gates for quicker checks.
When using the ePassport gates, travellers must remove their passport from any cover as well as removing all hats and sunglasses. Those aged 12 and over can use ePassport.
The airport tweeted: "Flying into Bristol Airport soon? Use one of our ePassport gates at Passport Control for faster and quicker checks. Please remember to:
- Remove your passport from any cover;
- Remove all hats/ sunglasses;
- 12 years and over can use our ePassport."
