There are just a few more hours left of anxious waits for students across the region to pick up their A-level results.
Many will be hoping to have secured the results they need to take them on their next steps as they nervously open their envelopes to find out how their last two years of study have gone. And some of the students at Dame Allan's in Fenham have already got their exciting next steps lined up.
Identical twins Dani and Zara Dolder, whose dad was the drummer in County Durham band Prefab Sprout, are hoping both to get good A-level results and to follow in their dad Steve's footsteps in the music industry. Having written and recorded songs in their home studio in Morpeth since the age of 11, they have set their sights on a future in the music industry and are working with Closer Artists - the management team which represents George Ezra, James Bay, and Holly Humberstone.

Zara, who took A levels in business, psychology and economics, said: "We are both really excited to get our results and hope we’ve managed to balance our school work and revision with writing music, to ensure we get the grades we want. Dani added: "We’ve worked really hard over the last few years, despite the challenges of Covid, and we hope this will be reflected in our results. We are ready now to fully focus on our music, which is where our true passion lies."
The girls have a growing fan base on Instagram and have produced a number of demos, with them hoping to sign for a record label in the near future. Their dad Steve Dolder said: "It became apparent at an early age that the girls were very musical and displayed natural talent. This has now been endorsed by some of the biggest names in the music industry. Dame Allan’s has always offered support and showed interest in the progress made by the girls."
And they are not the only ones with big plans once they collect their results. Young farmer Will Bailey from Whitley Chapel in Hexhamshire is about to head to New Zealand's South Island for six months to help out on a farm before starting at agricultural college Harper Adams - should he get the results he needs.
Farming runs in Will's family, with both parents growing up on family farms and both of his uncles owning them - one of which is in Northumberland. He's awaiting results in A level biology, physics and economics, which he has studied alongside playing rugby for the Fenham-based school and competing in tetrahtlons, which involve shooting, swimming, horse-riding and running.
Will said: "The reason I chose Harper Adams is because I specifically want to hone my skills in agricultural engineering and, with my strong background in farming, it seemed a natural fit."
Will Scott, Principal of Dame Allan's Schools, said: "A Level results day is always an exciting and special day for pupils. Sharing in their celebrations and wishing them well on their next steps is so fulfilling after the intensity of the A Level years – and it feels even more important this year given the impact Covid had on their GCSEs."
