Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor said she was “truly grateful” to be nominated for this year’s Bafta EE Rising Star Award alongside other young talents including Saltburn actor Jacob Elordi.
They are on the five-strong shortlist for the award which is voted for by the public with the winner announced later this year at the Bafta Film Awards.
The prestigious award recognises emerging talent on the big screen and has an enviable track record of picking performers who go on to further success with previous winners including Daniel Kaluuya, John Boyega, Kristen Stewart and Tom Hardy.
Dynevor, who is currently starring in the financial thriller Fair Play and is best known for her role as Daphne Bridgerton, said: “Being recognised by the EE BAFTA Film Awards for the EE Rising Star Award is a testament to the hard work of the entire team on ‘Fair Play’ who brought this film to life.
"I am truly grateful for this recognition and excited to continue challenging myself with new roles and projects. Thank you to BAFTA and EE for listing me alongside this year's wonderful nominees.”
Elordi, who plays Barry Keoghan’s high society classmate in Saltburn, is nominated alongside Ayo Edebiri who is one of the stars of hit TV show The Bear.
The US actress, who was also recently seen in satirical teen comedy Bottoms, said the nomination “means the world”.
Also nominated is English actress Mia McKenna-Bruce who has been acclaimed for her role in How to Have Sex – a rites of passage story about a teenage holiday in Greece that goes dreadfully wrong – with the shortlist completed by Australian star Sophie Wilde from horror film Talk To Me.
The winner will be announced at the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall on February 18.
