Raunchy period drama Bridgerton’s second season is set to be released next month - with Phoebe Dynevor returning as Daphne Bridgerton.
But for fans who simply can’t wait for the popular series to drop on Netflix on March 25, Aldi are selling the first two books in the series for just £2.99.
The streamy Shonda Rhimes' romantic drama everyone is obsessed with was inspired by the Julia Quinn novels, which were originally released in 2000 to 2006, with a Happy Ever After epilogue released in 2013.
And series one of the drama followed the Regency London love story of debutante Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page.
Fans were devastated when they heard Regé wouldn’t be returning for Lady Whistledown’s gossip in season two, but this is because, while the debut novel, ‘Bridgerton The Duke And I’ centred heavily around the dashing Duke, book two is all about the Viscount.
Bridgerton The Viscount Who Loved Me - and the inspiration for series two - focuses on eligible bachelor Anthony Bridgerton, Daphne’s brother.
This best-seller is also available in the middle aisle of Aldi’s Specialbuys for £2.99, so you can get ahead of the goss before the series airs.
Aldi said: “Whether it be a single book or a book set collection, start with Bridgerton. The inspiration for the popular Netflix series, this glittering, scandalous series tells the story of one family as they navigate the ballrooms of Ton, always watched by Lady Whistledown.”
Readers can immerse themselves in the world of scandal and mystery, and go on to buy the whole collection of books, should they feel like it.
Seasons three and four have already been officially commissioned by Netflix, so Lady Whistledown won’t be going anywhere any time soon.
Should you want to read the books in chronological order, here’s how:
An Offer From a Gentleman (2001)
Romancing Mister Bridgerton (2002)
To Sir Phillip, With Love (2003)
When He Was Wicked (2004)
It's In His Kiss (2005)
On the Way to the Wedding (2006)
The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After (2013)
Aldi shoppers are already obsessed with the books, with one customer writing: “Great Book. I can see why these stories have been adapted for tv. The writing hits the right balance of light, funny, sexy and romantic.”
Another said: “Love this one as it has so much humour in it and Newton the irrepressible corgi dog!”
The first series of Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix now. Netflix has confirmed that Bridgerton season two will premiere on Friday, March 25.
