A Dublin based bride has shared details of her summer wedding surrounded by her close family and friends.
Aoife and Daniel first met around eight years ago through work and live in Dublin. The two got engaged on Inis Bo Foinne off Donegal, which is where Daniel grew up.
The two then got married in Boyne Hill House in Co Meath last summer. The big day, documented by photographer Aidan Beatty, was a family affair with their nieces and nephews taking on the roles of flowergirls and pageboys.

Aoife explained: "My mam was by my side every step of the way, which meant the world to me. The weather was beautiful which meant we could have our speeches and first dance outside- everything fell into place and we had the most perfect day."
Here is Aoife's testimony about the wedding in full.
Who is your partner and how did you meet?
My husband is Daniel and we met through work. We’ve been together for nearly 8 years. Daniel is from Donegal but we’re both based in Dublin.
Tell us about the proposal.
We got engaged on Inis Bo Finne, Co. Donegal. Both Daniel’s mam and dad grew up on the Island and we spend a lot of time there during the holidays.
Tell us about your wedding.
We got married in Rathfeigh Church and had our reception in Boyne Hill House in July 2022. Our wedding was centred around family and friends. I had three bridesmaids – my two sisters in law and my cousin and Daniel had three of his brothers as groomsmen. We also had two flowergirls and two pageboys – our beautiful nieces and nephews. Our parents played a huge part in our wedding day as well, supporting us with all preparations and throughout the day. My mam was by my side every step of the way, which meant the world to me.
We had a beautiful, relaxed day surrounding by all our loved ones. The weather was beautiful which meant we could have our speeches and first dance outside. Everything fell into place and we had the perfect day.
What was the best thing about the build up to the big day?
The best thing about the build up was sharing all the excitement with our families. We made our invitations and a lot of our decor ourselves and had great fun doing everything. I loved shopping for my wedding dress with my mam. We made a big occasion of every outing and every dress fitting. We had a gorgeous day shopping for the bridesmaids outfits. Every occasion was special – from bringing the flower girl dresses up to Donegal, shopping for our wedding rings and bringing the wedding dress home after the final fitting. Endless coffees and scones were had!
What was your outfit/ the bridesmaids dresses like?
I wore a simple, flowy, ivory wedding dress. I bought the dress in MK Bridal, Co Meath. My brother and sister in law got married earlier that year and I borrowed her veil for the day which was very special. The girls wore skirts and tops. The skirts were bought in Folkster and the tops were made by a seamstress. We had great fun coming up with ideas and buying materials.
What are your tips for other brides?
Enjoy every minute! From the engagement, the planning and the weeks coming up to the wedding. It’s such a special time and everyone is so excited and happy for you. Share your joy with those closest to you!
Would you do anything differently?
I wouldn’t change a thing!
