Bride blushes as pal plays 'incriminating' first date voicemail to wedding guests

Recently married Sabrina Flores claimed to have played "hard to get" while dating her now-husband, but an "incriminating" voicemail played at her wedding revealed just how enthusiastic she'd been from the beginning.

Sabrina, from Durham, in North Carolina, US, had tried to play it "cool" when she first met Brendon de Spain, 24, on Bumble two years back.

However, she confided her true feelings to best pal John Martin in a gushing voice note left after their very first date, declaring her then crush to be "f***ing gorgeous".

Having chosen John as her 'maid' of honour, Sabrina, 23, had no idea whatsoever that he'd play that exact same voicemail back on her wedding day, all while her 50 guests - including Brendon's elderly grandparents - looked on.

Standing up for his speech during the December ceremony, John, 26, revealed there would be a "special guest" in attendance, announcing Sabrina herself would be saying a few words. He then hit play on the excitable voicemail, blaring it out for all to hear.

In a video shared via TikTok, relationship coach Sabrina could be seen hiding behind her hands as cheeky John played the note.

Sabrina could be heard insisting that she'd "never connected with anyone like she did with this guy", claiming "it can't get any better".

The bride said: "My maid of honour, John, has been my best friend since college. We always used to jest that I was nervous for his speech, even back in 2017, because he's such a mischievous lad. He's British himself and embodies the philosophy of jest and just having a good laugh.

"I knew it wasn't going to be good, but I'd forgotten about it. When he said 'we're going to invite Sabrina up to say some special words... from the past', I was terrified.

"Of course, in true best friend fashion, he embarrassed the living daylight out of me, in front of my friends and family, [where I was] dropping the F-bombs all over the place and calling my husband incredibly sexy in front of his grandparents. I was hoping it wasn't too incriminating because I went into a lot of detail [back then]. I was sweating".

According to Sabrina, she had attempted to play hard-to-get for "months" after first meeting Brandon, even claiming that she wasn't actually looking for a relationship.

However, the voicemail showed once and for all that this wasn't the case, with her cool-as-a-cucumber exterior having masked her true excitement about making such a special connection.

Sabrina added: "John gave very sneaky clues throughout the evening. The MC who was leading different parts of the wedding came up to me and said 'okay, we have two speeches left. One of them is a special guest.'

"Honestly, Brendon was looking at me the entire time and I couldn't bear to lock eyes with him. He was especially amused because the entirety of the beginning of our relationship, I was playing it so cool.

"I acted like I was very much disinterested and played hard to get, meanwhile this was my reaction from the beginning".

The hilarious clip has since been viewed more than 1.1 million times, racking up more than 126,700 likes and 588 comments, and Sabrina hopes that it's inspired those who may have lost faith in "romanticism and spontaneity".
