Brian Robinson to start at running back for Commanders vs. Bears

The comeback story for Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. is almost complete. According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo of the NFL Network, Robinson is expected to start at running back for the Commanders against the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.

Robinson returned last week, six weeks after being shot twice in the leg in an attempted robbery. He carried the football nine times for 22 yards in his NFL debut.

Antonio Gibson started the first four games for Washington and will continue to have a role in the backfield. Gibson is expected to be more involved in the passing game and could return kicks for the Commanders.

The Bears could be the perfect team for Robinson to make his first NFL start against. Chicago is currently No. 31 in rushing defense, allowing 170 yards rushing per game.

Of course, Washington’s offensive line issues could be a problem, with only left tackle Charles Leno and left guard Andrew Norwell remaining in the lineup from Week 1.
