- Veteran musician Brian Eno is relaunching his independent label, Opal Records, on 16 October after it was placed on hiatus in 1991.
- Two albums that have been unavailable for nearly two decades – 2005's Another Day On Earth and 2001's Drawn From Life – will also be reissued.
- Eno originally founded Opal Records in 1988 to distribute experimental, ambient and non-mainstream music matching his own groundbreaking sound.
- Reflecting on his creation of ambient music as a genre, which he described as "music two", Eno said: "I was aware that making sonic ‘places’ was what mattered to me. I was thinking not so much of making music but rather of evoking ‘the feeling of a place’ through sound.”
- The 78-year-old Grammy winner is is recognised for soundscapes on pieces like “The Big Ship” and “By This River”, alongside his work with artists including U2.
