Brian Dowling and husband Arthur Gourounlian share tragic loss of twins during journey to parenthood

Brian Dowling has revealed he and husband Arthur Gourounlian lost twins during their journey to parenthood.

The couple, along with Brian’s sister Aoife, who acted as surrogate, allowed TV crews to film them for a documentary which airs on RTE tomorrow.

Brian Dowling & Arthur’s Very Modern Family tells the story of the birth of daughter Blake.

Brian said: “We lost twins before they were implanted, they had chromosomal disorders.

“The clinic that we went to only work with viable healthy embryos.

“We never knew the gender they destroyed... it wasn’t just you know, an egg and it wasn’t just sperm.”
