BRIAN Cox has pulled out from appearing at Alex Salmond’s Fringe show next month, it has been announced.
The Dundee-born star of HBO’s hit show Succession was due to appear alongside the former first minister on August 9 as part of the Alba leader’s upcoming show The Ayes Have It! The Ayes Have It!
Cox, a prominent pro-independence voice, is said to have backed out because of filming commitments with the BBC.
A statement posted to the show’s official Twitter account said: “Brian Cox has had to pull out of the Big Chair in the big tent on August 9 due to a last-minute BBC switch in his filming commitments.
“We are working with Brian to ensure that Logan Roy still has a ‘presence’ throughout the 10 day proceedings!”
Trade union firebrand Mick Lynch, the general secretary of the RMT, has also been confirmed to appear at the show, which runs for 10 days from August 4.
Also scheduled to appear are former speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow, former first minister Henry McLeish, STV presenter Bernard Ponsonby and Tory MP David Davis.
