RB Leipzig striker Brian Brobbey has already joked about the possibility of being reunited with former manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United amid the Reds' interest in his signature.
As revealed by the Manchester Evening News on Friday, Ten Hag is interested in bringing the Dutchman to Old Trafford this summer. The duo worked together at Ajax and Brobbey returned to the club on loan last season after moving to Leipzig in July 2021.
Brobbey, who is only 20, left Ajax to join Leipzig and struggled to hit the ground running in Germany, so much so that he returned to his former club on loan last December. He joined them on a six-month loan deal and made a solid impression upon his return to the Johan Cruyff Arena, scoring seven goals in just 11 Eredivisie matches.

The youngster, who is renowned for his pace and strength, is understood to be free to leave Leipzig this summer after failing to adapt to life in Germany. With that in mind, Ten Hag is believed to be keen on the idea of bringing him to England.
And should United offer their backing to Ten Hag in this particular situation, the prospect of moving to Old Trafford could certainly tempt Brobbey. He is a huge fan of his former manager and joked, following confirmation that Ten Hag would become United's next manager back in April, that he would like to join him in M16.
"I am very happy for him and he really deserves it after everything he has done for Ajax," said Brobbey, speaking at a press conference in April. "If only he brings me with him in two years... no, no... joking, joking!"
Whether Brobbey was joking or not, Ten Hag has found a way to get the best out of the striker, meaning the prospect of working with him again could be too good an opportunity for him to turn down, should the Reds make their move. Brobbey came through the youth ranks at Ajax while Ten Hag was in charge of the first-team ranks, meaning the latter knows everything about him.
Although he struggled to deliver in Germany, he thrives when working under Ten Hag. He scored a total of 13 goals in 32 senior appearances for Ajax over two spells.
