Brentford January transfer window guide: Chelsea exile could be ideal signing with transfer need clear

Last season saw Brentford suffer so many serious injuries that the club launched an internal investigation into the matter in April, by which time 29 first-team injuries had been sustained.

This campaign risks following that worrying trend. Standard Sport learned in December that Brentford were not planning to sign any players in January unless they suffered further injuries that unbalanced the look of the squad and left them short in some areas.
