Jesse Lingard’s Forest observation
Nottingham Forest forward Jesse Lingard has laid out his "two main observations" about the World Cup in Qatar.
In a column for The Mail on Sunday, the 29-year-old admitted it is "annoying" that the tournament has come just as the Reds were building momentum in the Premier League under head coach Steve Cooper after a difficult start to the season.
He also says, though, that the "vast majority" of players want to be at the World Cup despite the backdrop of human rights issues and mistreatment of migrant workers. "Having the World Cup in Qatar has caused controversy which everyone knows about," Lingard wrote .

Exciting Brennan Johnson verdict
Former Derby County boss Wayne Rooney has tipped Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson to make an impact on the upcoming FIFA World Cup with Wales.
Johnson netted twice against Rooney and the Reds' arch rivals on the way to promotion last season, first in a 1-1 draw at Pride Park before scoring the second goal in January's 2-1 win.
The 22-year-old heads to Qatar having been a regular in the first half of Forest's Premier League campaign. His adaptation to top-flight football is mirrored by Steve Cooper's side, who now find themselves just one point away from safety.
Keane’s Everton hint
Everton defender Michael Keane has hinted at how much he enjoys playing for Everton and the club’s fans amid January links to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are said to be showing an interest in the former Manchester United defender, who has found game time hard to come by so far this season. The signings of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady in the summer have reduced Keane to just one Premier League appearance so far.
But, speaking back in the summer, Keane outlined how he encouraged former Burnley teammate Tarkowski to make the move. The defender hinted how much he enjoyed it at Goodison Park.
