Brennan Johnson drops Nottingham Forest transfer hint after victory over Derby County

Brennan Johnson has said he is enjoying his time at Nottingham Forest amid reports linking him to a £15million move to Brentford this month.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League throughout this season and made no harm to his reputation as an exciting young player with his performance in the 2-1 win over against Derby County.

He scored Forest's second goal against the Rams with an excellent strike against Wayne Rooney's side at the City Ground.

Starting the move on the half-way line, Johnson sprayed the ball wide to Philip Zinckernagel before driving forward to turn the ball past Derby 'keeper Ryan Allsop from inside the penalty area.

Johnson's goal increased Forest 's lead after Lewis Grabban had put the Reds ahead early in the second-half. Tom Lawrence's converted penalty set-up a nervy final few minutes, but Steve Cooper's side held on to secure all three points.

Speaking to Sky Sports at full-time, goalscorer Johnson said: "It means everything scoring, coming from Nottingham I know how much it means to the fans. To score is unbelievable.

"It all happened quickly. Once the ball went in the net I lost a bit of control.

"It was unbelievable."

The attacking midfielder was also asked what his immediate future could look like following reports of a big-money move to the Premier League during January, to which Johnson responded: "I'm not too sure. I'm loving my football at the moment.

"I'm very confident. All the boys are. I want to keep going and keep doing well."
