The Northern Irishman previously took almost a year out following his exit from Liverpool in 2015 before joining Celtic, and while the Bhoys are keen to get their old manager back at the helm after Ange Postecoglou's switch to Tottenham Hotspur, Rodgers is less keen to jump straight back in after a tough year at Leicester City.
Leeds continue to search for a new manager and have been linked with a host of names alongside Rodgers, such as Scott Parker, Carlos Corberan, Steven Gerrard and Graham Potter.
