Returning Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers heaped praise on Ange Postecoglou for his achievements during two trophy-laden years in Glasgow.
And the Irishman is utterly convinced the major rebuilding job he produced back in 2016 won't be needed this time around as he told supporters Angeball is the perfect template for the way he wants Celtic to play football. And he even pointed to his own success with inverted full-backs before he was Parkhead boss last time around. Rodgers admits it was a favoured tactic during his spell as Liverpool boss as he discussed different methods to add a fourth man to midfield when in and out of possession.
Speaking at his introductory press conference with fan media, Rodgers said: "Celtic supporters want to see a high tempo game, fast football, creating opportunities and defending together. With the supporters that makes us a real force. There will be subtle changes over time, the first time I came in it was a total rebuild of the structure of the team and how we played by getting four players on the inside.
"Ange has done that by bringing an inverted full-back in. I did that during my spell at Liverpool, where I had Emre Can coming in, he was a midfielder playing at right-back and coming in. The team is in a really good place, it's just little fine tuning for me over the next few years. And bring in a different type of quality, hopefully, as well."
And Celtic appear primed to get down to transfer business with Odin Holm signed and Marco Tilio closing in on a switch to Parkhead. Benie Traore is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Parkhead.
