Brenda Edwards has returned to the Loose Women studio after a two month break following the death of her son, Jamal. The entrepreneur died on February 20 after a heart attack, Brenda was with him and has been taking a break from the ITV lunchtime show ever since. Ruth Langford introduced Brenda saying that she was “back where she belongs” and described how she has missed the singer.
Notably, the death of Jamal wasn’t referenced by Brenda or any of the other Loose Women on the show. As to why this was, Coleen mentioned yesterday that her friend and co-star wanted to get back to work. However, Brenda did reveal that today's show was dedicated to Jamal on her social media.

Brenda is already ‘causing trouble’ as she and Coleen had a drunken and emotional evening whilst staying at a hotel last night as the returning panellist was nervous. Coleen talked about how they “cried and cried” during their time together. Brenda laughed as her friend described that the hotel staff brought them cookies at the end of the night: "We had a lovely catch up and we laughed a lot and we cried a lot. They brought us cookies because at one point they didn't know what to do with us."
During an interview with Coleen yesterday, Brenda revealed that she was doing all she could to keep Jamal’s legacy alive, including setting up the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust. According to Brenda, the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust which was launched to “honour [Edwards’] memory and continue his legacy”. She also describes how they are also looking to set up a homeless sanctuary in Jamal's name. She talked about how the other Loose Women have been a pillar of support for her during this difficult time and thanked the Loose Women team for being “at the end of the phone”.
