Brenda Blethyn has been quick to shut down concerns she is quitting her iconic role in Vera.
As fans are still smarting over ITV pressing pause on series 11 for a second time, replacing it on a Sunday with The Good Karma Hospital and Trigger Point,, one viewer took to Twitter after spotting a newspaper headline about Vera.
The headline read: 'Never again! Vera star Brenda Blethyn on refusing to return to ITV series.' Underneath the startling headline were the words 'Vera star Brenda Blethyn has opened up about leaving the long-running ITV crime series after she claimed: "Never again!"

On spotting the headline, the fan tweeted Brenda outright to ask: "Are you leaving the role as Vera?"
And, thankfully for that viewers and millions of others across the world, Brenda replied: "Start filming again in March."
The story was actually referring to the fact that after long days and weeks of filming Vera for over a decade now, sometimes in far from pleasant weather conditions, she returns home and vows 'never again!' but always goes back.
BAFTA winner Brenda's reassuring response was music to the ears of lovers of all things DCI Stanhope.
One told her: "Thanks Brenda. You're fabulous in this role. It's yours @kennydoughty is brilliant too. My only complaint...I wish each series ran longer," with a second remarking: "This is why it's so handy to just go straight to the source for the real scoop. Glad you are sticking around because Vera is a favourite of mine. I want as many seasons as Midsummer Murders. You can live to around 160 yrs old, aye? Haha"
A third responded: "Thank goodness. It's the one show I really love I just wish there were more episodes. The character of vera is so real, likable and relatable. Only the amazing @BrendaBlethyn could pull that off."
After episodes 3 and 4 of Vera series 11 - Tyger Tyger and As The Crow Flies - pulled in close to five million viewers last month, fans are now having to play the waiting game on when the fifth and sixth parts will air, with ITV telling ChronicleLive they had 'no news' on when they will be shown.
