The New York Jets did not see very much success on offense in their 30-10 Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. They especially did not have success running the football, totaling just 64 rushing yards — 36 coming from quarterback Zach Wilson.
One player that felt extremely frustrated with the rushing attack was Breece Hall, who touched the ball just four times in the loss for a grand total of nine yards. Hall was not too happy with that output and feels that was a reason why the Jets struggled on offense.
Buy Jets Tickets“I mean, I only got four touches,” Hall said after the game. “That’s why we struggled. It is what it is. We just got down early today and just abandoned the run. That type of stuff happens. You feel like you have to get back in the game and it just slips away.”
Hall also posted (and later deleted) a tweet of simply four football emojis, symbolizing his four touches in the game.
The Jets’ running backs totaled 24 yards on 10 carries. Hall led the way with his nine yards. Michael Carter had eight and Dalvin Cook had seven. Carter and Cook also added eight combined yards in the passing game. That’s 32 yards on 12 total touches for the trio.
Dallas’ incredible defense certainly played a part in New York not being able to establish the run, but the offense line has to play much better. Hall also looks healthy, but the Jets still want to have Hall on a pitch count. At some point, the reins need to come off and the Jets have to let their 2022 second-round pick loose.
A 20-point loss following an emotional divisional win to start the season will always make a team frustrated. But in this case, perhaps Hall makes a valid argument.
