Woman who killed Emily Jones, 7, on Mother's Day loses appeal against sentence

A woman who killed a seven-year-old girl by cutting her throat in a park on Mother's Day has lost an appeal against her sentence.

Eltiona Skana attacked Emily Jones while she was on her scooter with her dad in Queen's Park, Bolton, Greater Manchester, in 2020.

The 31-year-old admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility and was given a life sentence with a minimum term of ten years and eight months.
