Twitter down for thousands in global outage as users say it's 'finally broken'

Thousands of Twitter users have reported being unable to access the social media platform in a global outage.

Web monitoring website Downdetector said many users in both the UK and around the world were experiencing difficulties with the site early on Thursday morning.

The majority of reports appeared to come from the desktop site and peaked at around 1am GMT, with the total number of outages falling over the following half hour.
