Tottenham fans will be familiar with the player after his spell with Bournemouth. Playing the full 90 minutes in Spurs' 3-2 win over the Cherries in November 2019, it was the following season where Danjuma really made a name for himself on the south coast.
Following Bournemouth's relegation to the Championship, Danjuma stepped up and contributed 17 goals and eights assists in 37 games in all competitions. After missing out on a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, the Lagos-born player sealed a big-money move to Spanish side Villarreal in August 2021.
His first season with the La Liga club turned out to be a big success, scoring 16 goals, including six in the Champions League, in his 34 outings for the Yellow Submarines. Missing the first month of this campaign through a muscle injury, Danjuma has still managed to contribute six goals for Villarreal but last season's Champions League semi-finalists have now allowed him to depart.
Danjuma will now compete with the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura for a spot in the Tottenham XI. The new addition could potentially make his debut for Spurs on Saturday evening when they travel to Championship side Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
